Jimena Kho

Hi! I’m Jimena!

If you are looking at my bio, then you’re probably interested in learning to fly an airplane! Here’s a little bit about me, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to stop me here at the airport and introduce yourself. I love meeting new pilots!

Outside of the classroom, I love learning about new cultures and traveling with my husband and our pup, Cable. We moved up here the end of 2017 and have spent many weekends getting out to explore the new wondrous areas around here that Northern California has to offer!

Before moving here we lived in Southern California where I got my private, instrument, commercial, and instructor’s licenses. Prior to that, I grew up in Bogota, Colombia where I was an officer in the Colombian Air Force for 12 years, using my degree in Aeronautical Business Administration and a Masters in Human Resources to manage civilian employees.

It was during my career in the military where I learned about working with people on an individual basis, a philosophy that still serves me today as an instructor. Working with my students, I strive to understand their individual needs and goals and to build a lesson program that connects their current progress to their future goals.

Why did I decide to become an instructor? As a child, I dreamed of becoming a pilot. After finally achieving that goal and getting my commercial license, I realized that I was in a great position to help others with a dream similar to my own. If flying the open skies is a dream of yours too, let’s work together to make it a reality!

Also, if you’re not a US citizen, I can help! I’ve been through the whole process myself and I’m now an ASFP provider. Yo hablo Español también.

Learning aviation is an adventure that can last the rest of your lifetime. Our classroom is the sky and we have the freedom to travel wherever we desire!
